Crude slate

Sweet and sour crude oils received from Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming and Canada, by truck or by pipeline, according to the 2024 EPA and Colorado notice of violation. The statement covers the whole Commerce City refinery, not the West plant alone.

Crude in & products out

From refinery research; each row links its source.
DirectionModeRoutePoint / originProductsSource
crude in truck Crude truck unloading at the refinery
The 2024 EPA and Colorado notice of violation says incoming crude oil is received by truck or by pipeline. It describes the Commerce City refinery as a whole and does not split receipts between the West and East plants.

products out truck rack Suncor Energy (U.S.A.) Inc. Denver Truck Terminal
Suncor operates a gasoline loading rack called the Denver Truck Terminal, where some of the refinery's finished products are loaded into tanker trucks. The 2024 notice lists the refinery's main products as gasoline, diesel, asphalt, jet fuel and liquefied petroleum gas. The notice does not give the rack's street address or say which plant it sits in, and it does not describe asphalt loading.

products out rail Plant 1 Rail Loading Rack (R101)
Plant 1 has its own rail loading rack, unit R101 in permit 96OPAD120, with a vapor combustion unit regulated under the federal bulk gasoline terminal rule. Colorado's permit review calls it the Plant 1 OMD rack (Plant 1 rail rack). The serving railroad is not named in these documents.

products out terminal Sunoco LP Denver terminal
Sunoco LP's page for its Denver terminal (formerly NuStar) lists the Suncor Refinery as a receipt source, alongside pipeline and ethanol by truck. The page does not say which plant supplies the terminal, by what line, or which products.

Rates are pipeline line-haul transcribed from published FERC tariffs; every figure cites its tariff and item. Cost to serve (netback) adds origin spot price and destination fees. "Confirmed" links match a tariff delivery point to the facility; "same city" means the point is in the facility's city — plausible, not proof; "per research" means the facility's research profile names the pipeline as an outlet.
