PBF Energy completed its acquisition of the refinery from Shell in February 2020, renaming it Martinez Refining Company LLC. No further ownership change since. PBF also separately operates a Torrance, CA refinery (unrelated to this entity). NOTE: a separate, unrelated Martinez-area refinery -- Marathon's former Tesoro/Andeavor 'Golden Eagle'/Avon refinery, idled in April 2020 and converted to 'Marathon Martinez Renewable Fuels' -- is easily confused with this facility in public records and search results; sources describing the Avon and Amorco Marine Oil Terminals and a 2020 crude-refining suspension belong to that *different* Marathon facility, not to this PBF entity, and were excluded from this profile.
